Youth Service Project: Birthday Cake Kits for Families in Need
2026 marks 60 years of Trinity Lutheran Church! To kick off this milestone birthday year, the youth are doing a service project to provide birthday cake kits to families in need through Open Heart Kitchen. These kits make it possible for families to celebrate birthdays, even when facing food insecurity. Each kit will include a pan, a box of cake mix, a can of frosting, a can of Sprite (substitute for the eggs and oil), birthday candles, and sprinkles- everything needed for a birthday cake! Here's how to get involved:
  • Donate supplies! During the month of January, we will be collecting supplies for the kits in the Narthex:
    • Disposable 9x13 cake pans (with lid)
    • Boxed white/vanilla or funfetti cake mix
    • Birthday candles
    • Sprinkles
    • Cans of frosting 
    • Cans of Sprite
  • Help us build the kits! Join us on Sunday, January 25th after worship in the Fellowship Hall to build the kits. All are welcome!
